Ghitu Slinger - MTG

One of two cards I updated the artwork for in the Eternal Masters set of Magic: The Gathering. The brief called for, "..a male Ghitu nomad fire-slinger. With one hand, he’s whipping his fire-sling around in a circle at his side (NOT over his head), winding up. With the other hand he’s pointing at the camera: his target. The fireball in the sling leaves a tail, kind of like a comet as it circles round and round."
I was also to reference the original character design and "keep any cool parts, and reinvent the dated aspects." While my initial design for him stayed pretty consistent, I did experiment with several poses and composition to arrive at this. I'm okay with this piece, not great but solidly fills the requirements. Hope you enjoy
