Such a place would be a young person's dream! Lots of potential for mini-adventures in such a place. Of course, parents would do everything in their power to close off the place because it's inherently dangerous. But that's half the fun!
I don't even know where to begin expressing what I love about this piece. The depth in the colouring is astounding, as is your palette. And the detail and overall composition is fantastic. I truly love everything in this picture. :>
Now all they need is a huge brontosaurus to swing from, as in Dinotopia. Love the misty effects and lighting in this. Is a brontosaurus supposed to be real anymore anyway? I know they changed the name, but I learned my dinosaurs old school and back when I was a kid.
You're so right! Dinotopia was a favorite book when I was young and still love it. Hadn't heard about the brontosaurus, far as I know it's still the same but maybe it's like Pluto not being a "real" planet now :\
Pluto was one of the coolest planet names ever. It makes me so sad it's not a planet anymore. *sniff.*
I'm pretty sure the brontosaurus turned out to be a composite dinosaur and scientists ended up combining different dinos by accident, so that's why it's not a real dinosaur anymore. But they'd changed the name even before that.
There's a class at the university I'm transferring to that is called "Dinosaurs" in the Earth Science section, by the way. That intrigues me, but my schedule is already perfectly lined up for this fall. I can easily see spending a semester on dinosaurs (old Dinotopia love strikes again), but then they also have a class called "Gold and Diamonds" and I don't know HOW one could spend an entire semester on that subject. 0.o
